FLAT SUN SOCIETY: The band was formed in Big Sur from a residency vocalist Jake Padorr held during the pandemic at the historic outdoor venue, the Henry Miller Library. This space allowed the band to explore their improvisational sound in front of unassuming Big Sur passersby attending the Library. Jake Padorr's cabin in Big Sur provided the space for their first recordings. The Flat Sun sound has now spread through Santa Cruz, the home area of the rest of the band.

Flat Sun Society finds a new niche of psychedelic rock that integrates polyrhythms, ethereal vocals and improvisation. The band is comprised of six friends from Big Sur and Santa Cruz who share a love for creating an immersive experience of sound. Their songs can become a journey full of momentous energy and fantastical moments.
