THE PEACOAT PROJECT: The Peacoat Project is a modern jazz ensemble built on original compositions and the talents of seasoned improvisers. Led by Peter Koht, the 8 piece band features Santa Cruz based stalwarts including Will Bates (Sambadá) on drums, bassist Chris Soriano (El Sol), tenor saxophonist Liz Torres (Aza), and trombonist Jordan Zell (La Familia). Together they bring a wealth of experience across jazz, soul, and Latin traditions into a sound that is unmistakably their own.
