ZOE FITZGERALD CARTER: Bay Area author turned songwriter, Zoe FitzGerald Carter, is releasing her fourth solo album, Chaos By Design, on October 28, 2026. Across twelve tracks, the artist offers a vivid, literary sense of language and unique blend of Americana, folk, and open-stringed, Joni-esque ballads.

“Zoe FitzGerald Carter is an artist who taps into the great American tradition of the troubadour singer-songwriter,” writes Tom Hilton of Aldora Britain Records. “With a fresh and invigorating approach, this Berkeley, California-based tunesmith crafts lyrically driven compositions that delve into themes of change, longing, exploitation, nostalgia and many more.”

Zoe grew up in Washington D.C. where she began playing guitar and singing as a teenager. She’s played with numerous Bay Area bands and co-founded the Americana string band Sugartown in 2015. She’s performed in clubs from the fabled Freight & Salvage in Berkeley, to the Lost Church and Hotel Utah in San Francisco, to Sweetwater Music Hall in Marin County. She’s toured the East Coast as a solo act and has played on the central coast and Southern California.
