Van Goat’s latest single arrives just in time for the holiday season. Without sounding anything like a holiday song, “Time of Year” contains many familiar elements of the genre. Its chorus sounds triumphant, with rousing chord changes, church organ, and singalong harmonies. But “Time of Year,” like the season, is a rollercoaster - it starts off beautiful and then hits you hard. It begins with lofty hopes and expectations, and then before you know it you’re on the ground. In many ways, “Time of Year” is a kind of holiday song for those who couldn’t care less about the holidays. Singer Lindsay Alexis says ”Most of this song was written in a very sad mostly empty bar in SF while it rained outside.”

Formed in 2015, Santa Cruz, California's Fulminante has been making noise in the Bay Area and beyond. The powerful trio is comprised of guitarist/vocalist Brenda Martinez, upright bassist/vocalist Paul Raney and drummer/vocalist Josue Monroy. The party started when Brenda, a Los Angeles native, sought to play music along the veins of Manu Chao and Gogol Bordello and was looking for like minded musicians. Paul and Josue, who had played together in another project previously, answered the call and the rest is history. The band's sound incorporates punk, rockabilly, ska, twangy blues rock, as well as latin influences to form a bombastic mix that will keep you moving. Dancable, drinkable music! Your new favorite band!
